Carrots have vitamin A, which is important for eyes.
Night blindness is one of the first signs of vitamin A deficiency.
Thats why ppl say carrots are good for vision and to make kids eat more vegetables.
There is no doubt that carrot is healthy, but as any other thing, it cant help all ppl the same way.
From my experience, vitamin A pills are great!

Carrots do not have vitamin A. They have beta carotene which can be converted into vitamin A in the body under the right conditions. Vitamin A does help sharpen vision, but it's fat soluble and too much can be toxic. You might have better luck taking a small amount of cod liver oil once a week. But check with your doctor first.

Not in the way you are thinking it might. When people wear glasses it is because their eyes are either too long or too short, it's just the way you are born, cannot do anything to fix it. As far as a healthy diet or carrots, these can be helpful in preventing eye deterioration like macular degeneration. Vitamin A is important to that. Also, do not smoke, several studies have proven that smoking triples your chances of developing visually significant macular degeneration.
As far as everyone in your fmily having poor eyesight but not you, that's a question for a geneticist.

Most of us refer to carrots as the vegetable that is good for our eyes. This is because carrots are a good source of vitamin A that is very important for healthy eyesight, skin, growth, and helps our body resist infection. According to a study conducted by researchers of the USDA, eating carrots may lower
cholesterol levels. Carrots are also a great source of beta carotene.

Because the carrot is so high in vitamin A, it has been used extensively in the diet to improve the eyesight. Carrots were used in World War II in aerial training schools to improve the eyesight of the students.
