Although I concur that you must be trolling, and I am a woman, I will answer the question as asked, anyway.
First off, Paul had what we would call "issues". He went above and beyond the standards of his time in his chauvinism. Even so, the standards of the day were such that yes, women's roles were more limited than they are now. Women were not completely devalued, however. Jesus himself respected and valued women.
Despite this, many societies had goddesses whom they revered. Even the Greeks, who treated women about as badly as anyone ever has, had goddesses of great power and wisdom. How did that work? Well, gods and goddesses are not men and women. They are NOT HUMAN. They are above humans, and so a man worshipping a goddess, no matter what his views on human women, is not worshipping something that is less than himself.
Anyway if you've ever seen a reputable study that says women are less mentally capable than men, I'd like to see it. Even in the early nineteen hundreds, when they really wanted to prove this, they were unable to.

I respect your own personal beliefs, but Paul was of the opinion that men were better than women type of personality, and with recent findings with in your own religion that Mary of Magdalen was one of Jesus' most beloved disciples kind of sets this view on its head. Before anyone starts in on me I used to be a Christian, and personally read a great majority of the Bible, and became turned a way by all the 'if you are not of my religion your going to hell' rhetoric that I started looking into what I truly believed, and found my way to Paganism.
I worship Gaea (Mother Earth to you) and the Creator (a genderless shapeless being that created the universe we live in) because it feels right, you know like how you feel about Jesus. To be honest whether it is a God or Goddess that one worships is beside the point; we are still mortal and the Divine are the only ones who can cast any kind of moral judgment on any one individual. End of story; because it really does not matter who is right or who wrong only the being that judges us knows the truth, and we don't it is that simple.
Blessed Be (it is the same as God Bless) to all

Okay then, Bob... PAUL believed this... As Christians, we are baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit... We are not baptized in the name of Paul, therefore, Paul is significant, but not the be all and end all of Christianity. In addition... If God wanted to create Woman from Adam's feces, he could have... If He really thought women are below men, then he'd have created Eve from a different bone... why not a bone from Adam's foot? Anyway, God chose a rib... One of the functions of the rib is to protect the heart... that's what a woman is for a man... she is the guardian of his heart... Also, look at the the placement of the ribs... the ribs are at the side to the middle of the body... Seems to me like God got a bone from a very "central" part of Adam, if you asked me.
Anyway, even if you're not convinced, here's a 21st century way of looking at it... According to Maria Portokalos (the mother on My big fat Greek wedding) "A man is the head of the house... but the woman is the neck, and she turns the head any way she chooses." Go figure, Bob, and grow up!

Bob,
I don’t know what to say. I’m a 45 year old male. I can assure you I am not stupid. I have a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry. I can assure you that I am no pansy. I’ve worked as a roughneck on an oil rig, a bouncer in a bar, and I’ve run a marathon.
And I have a fantastic relationship with The Goddess. I have not given anything up for that relationship and I have gained a great deal.
Why don’t you take this stuff off line? I’ll be happy to carry on a lively discussion with you via e-mail. Unless of course you’re just a troll, kind of a poser Christian. ;-)
Bright Blessings,
Pabs

Well Bob, the Goddess of the Witches isn't a woman, she's a goddess.
The Apostle Paul had some very serious hang-ups, including not being able to deal with his homosexuality. Read "Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism".

Your answer is based purely on what you believe, which is what Paul wrote in the Bible. Just because something is in the Bible does not make it a fact. You say women are less mentally capable than men? Where's your proof (and no, you can't say because the Bible says so)?
Without relying simply on what is written in the Bible (which, for all we know, is a well written fairy tale), prove that God exists and Jesus is his son, and prove that the "Goddess" does not exist.
Frankly, it seems to me you'd have to be kind of stupid to worship Christ or the Goddess. Maybe the Bible was written so that less than mentally capable men and women would fear of going to Hell if they don't live according to the laws of civilized society.

Bob,
If you are truly in Christ, I don't think you're following His teaching very well with this inflammatory question, which you plainly did NOT ask in a spirit of love. I can see why morganie thinks you're a non-Christian troll. This is the kind of thing I'd expect from one of them. If you are truly in Christ, you should be praying for others, not calling them stupid and a bunch of pansies.

This has to be the most stupid question I have ever seen on Yahoo Answers. You are judging us by your own, bigoted, biased, and ignorant standards of superstition, and the use your book of fables like it is scientific dogma to preach to me that I am wrong in my beliefs because EVERYONE knows that your belief are the gold standard of all human behavior.
Besides, if you think women are less capable than men, I feel sorry for your wife (if you ever have one) and I feel even more sorry for you when she finds out what a pig headed sexist bigot you are.
So my question to you is; where is it that you have found authintic, undeniable proof that "your God" has a penis? Where does it say specifically that testicles are part of your God?

Whoa... Biblical Scholars more or less agree that Paul was a "woman hater," but I can forgive most of it due to the culture in which he was raised.
You on the other hand, Mr. Bob, don't have the luxury of that same excuse. Or do you? I'd like to know why you are so sexist. "Women less mentally capable than men"??? *pbth* Can't wait for your life to depend on the skills of a FEMALE doctor!

What is wrong with you? You know nothing about Wicca, obviously. Wicca has a GOD and A GOODESS. The Goddess represents the female aspects of life, and God represents the male aspects. Paul was just a woman hating pig. Why listen to him? Would you call your dad a pansy for deferring to your mother? I doubt it.
