Yes, you do.
But the good news is there are so many cardio choices that you can do it.
you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.
Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Good luck and stick at it.

yeah, there is a way.
It will be like running though...you will be out of breath and it will make you feel really bad cause its an extra hard workout.
It is a weight lifting technique called drop sets. You start with an amount of weight that you can do at least 15 reps with. You do reps until failure, ie, you cannot do even ONE more rep. Then, you VERY QUICKLY take off some weight and continue again to failure and you VERY QUICKLY again take off weight and go to failure. You do this till no weight is left. The problem is, you are going to have to do this FAST and with basically ZERO waiting around between routines. So, you'll not only do your presses FAST, but you'll have to move IMMEDIATELY to rows, or pulls or legs or whatever. Furthermore, you'll need a solid 45 minutes of this AT LEAST 3x a week. That is alot of dropset workout in a week...in fact, it might be too much. But, if you hate running and like lifting, this might be something you can handle and that you like.
Anyway...you did not say swimming was out. What about that? And what about biking?? Lastly, what about boxing? A heavy bag workout is REALLY intense...I am guessing 10 minutes would kick your butt on it...let alone 45, which is what you'll need to do. There are alternatives to running...but they are tough.

It's a good idea, you should do cardio, what about a cardio machine like a step machine or ecliptical trainer? When you are using light weights and doing lots of reps that is considered cardio weights. Make sure they are no more than 10lbs and do 20-30 reps put some effort into it and do a circuit of about 5 exercises 3-5 times, you'll get a sweat on, make sure you are eating healthy and in 4-5 small meals a day you'll tone up really well.

Yes you can burn just as many calories lifting weights, but to do it right and be as healthy as possible, you should do cardio also. By the way, i'm a bit of a hypocrite. I don't do cardio and i just lift weights, but my body fat is 7%, so I don't have to do cardio. But, if I were intersted in losing weight, I would indeed do cardio also.

cardio actually targets the fat - you can lose weight by eating less and nothing else BUT the weight loss is more likely to be from muscle which is what you don't want - you have to do cardio, weights and diet if you want to lose weight the right way and have a better chance of keeping it off - healthy weight loss is about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds per week - most of that will be fat if you do it the right way - losing muscle causes your metabolism to slow down and it will be harder to lose weight and even worse easier to gain - good luck

no you dont. you can diet watch what u eat / eat fruit instead of chocolate ,no salt on your food . cardio depends on the person. you can walk down steps instead of the elevator, you can take it up walk down. just do normal things more like clean, and just try to keep moving 4 about 2 hour a day nonstop. u burn an average of 200 calories just doing normal things for 10 Min's. 180 x 200 3600 calories. do things not just take your time for the 2 hours feel your heart rate go up act is if you have a deadline and it has to be done by a certain time.

You absolutely have to do cardio to lose weight, weights will not do it alone. Not sure if you are a man or woman but try reading Mens Health or Womens Health for more tips on different cadio. Try the Eliptical its great.

I think you need cardio to lose weight. You need to get your heart rate up high enough to burn calories at an efficient level. Cardio before weights helps you warm up so you don't injur yourself.
I hate cardio too but I'd rather do my cardio than pull something and have it hurt.

You don't have to but it helps alot and helps your body in more ways then just losing weight. Try a light cardio program. Walking can be fun. Swimming or bike riding too.

Weight lifting is gonna build muscles, but if you really want to be healthy and lose weight, you're gonna have to do some real exercise. Be creative about it and I'm sure you'll find something you like, it doesnt have to feel like exercise to be good for you ;)
