I know many women abandon their children as well, but not in the numbers that men do.What is going on in their minds that justifies this?

to be honest there is no justification for any of this. Men seem to forget that they indeed participated in the making in the child. And to make matters worse they also act as if these children come for free. But once in court the woman is treated like trash and some might even say it's a trap. They should have looked before they leaped and should've worn a damn condom. Guys are so slow to realize that every action has a consequence. I don't think that they'll ever get it! Ladies if it's any consolation either you practice abstinence or use birth control cause someone has to take control of the situation. Ladies it's time to step up and do what we got to do. Stay safe!

This is a good question, I feel like there could be many different reasons but I feel like the number one answer is they are not responsible, stable or ready for fatherhood, which is a major responsiblity. Other reasons could be they dont get along with the mother of their children and that can be a extreme headache when you have to deal with them on the one to one basis or deal with them filling your childs head with bs.... Thats why as women you should wait until your married before you have children, that way you have a commitment from someone who intends to stay around and be a positive influence, and also that way your child is conceived in LOVE, you wont have to worry whether he feels the same about your child(s), you will know how he feels.

imo a LARGE percentage abandon their children because of the grossly disproportionate favor the law has towards women when it comes to child and custody laws .... basically what can happen is a guy works his whole life to buy a house and a car and start a family with2.5 kids .... then all the woman has to do is decide she dont like it anymore and take off with johnny long dong from the local bar and take everything the guy has ever worked for AND make himm pay her ... its an extreme example but an all too common one .... alot of times the guy feels (and imo quite justifiably so) that he is losing in a hugely unfair way and then decides to drop everything and disappear from the cunnt that screwed his life.

Its a combination of many things 1st probably upbringing... today so many come from broken home or where parents cheat on each other. Feminist movement where women are told they don't need a man to live or raise a child. Media pressures with TV shows showing how wonderful 1 parent families are or how the kids are just ok to pack'em off back and forth to the parents...
Men are just not as motherly as mothers are... plain and simple...

Nothing can justify it. I personally think some men don't have the same feelings as women do about their kids. ( Not all most some) Maybe it has something to do with the women carrying the kid for 9 mths.

Many men don't want kids. It sounds terrible and I'm not proud of it but it's true. Make sure that the man you have unprotected sex with wants kids, even if you don't think you'll get pregnant.

I have to agree with puzzler. I had a child at 16 and I worked hard to be the best parent I could be while he tried to prove it by suing me for joint custody and taking off when it came time to sign legal documentation. They are selfish ***** that can only see tomorrow and not "FUTURE"

They aren't men.Because they are immature boys and not real dad's. They want all the fun without the responsibility. Men stand up and are responsible.

Absolutely NOTHING is happening in their heads. It takes a real man to stay involved with their kids and an even BIGGER MAN to take care of kids that do not belong to him. More power to all the ones that do !!
