Shiva meaning "One who purifies everyone by the utterance of His name" or the Pure One.Shiva is the destroyer, and Brahma is the creator and Vishnu is the preserver. Even though he represents destruction, Shiva is viewed as a positive force.
It is believed that Shiva and Parvati live on Mount Kailas, near the Lake Manasarovar.

Shiva the lord of dance. I have a statue of him dancing with the circle of flames around him. Shiva is the destroyer. In Hindu mythology Braham created the universe, Vishnu sustains the universe ans Shiva destroys the universe.
I personally like him although I have never worshiped him, not Hindu, friend is!

If you want to get technical Shiva is only one incarnation of the entity he represents. You're forgetting Vishnu and Brahma who compose the other two parts.
Anyway I think he's cool... I mean six arms? That's cool.
