If you watch only one conspiracy documentary ever, make it this one. This just might be the best introductory video out there. Understand that every claim made in this is fact, not opinion, no matter how wild it sounds. It's all easily verifiable through mainstream news archives and public documents.

First off, America did not label itself as " The superpower" other countries gave America that title. As someone pointed out, you do not have to fill out the, what race you are. How is filling out your race, worse then the cast system in India, for example, or the women forced to veil in the Middle East, etc? People who just bash America, yet run here to live in droves. well, that just doesn't make since to me, because if other countries are "so much better" then America, Why did you move here?
Why don't you try learning a little about American history, we lay it all out there for anyone to read, the good, & the bad!
Try reading, "Whats So Great About America" by D'Souza (by the way, D'Souze is a person of color, India.)
He defends not an idealized America, but America as it really is, and measures America not against utopia, but against the rest of the world. Critics have a narrow and distorted understanding of America. They exaggerate American faults, and they ignore what is good and even great about America.
So what about slavery? No one will deny that America practiced slavery, but America was hardly unique in this respect. Indeed, slavery is a universal institution that in some form has existed in all cultures. In his study Slavery and Social Death, the West Indian sociologist Orlando Patterson writes, “Slavery has existed from the dawn of human history, in the most primitive of human societies and in the most civilized. There is no region on earth that has not at some time harbored the institution.” The Sumerians and Babylonians practiced slavery, as did the ancient Egyptians. The Chinese, the Indians, and the Arabs all had slaves. Slavery was widespread in sub-Saharan Africa, and American Indians had slaves long before Columbus came to the New World. What is distinctively Western is not slavery but the movement to end slavery. Abolition is a uniquely Western institution.
My conclusion is that America is the greatest, freest, and most decent society in existence. It is an oasis of goodness in a desert of cynicism and barbarism. This country, once an experiment unique in the world, is now the last best hope for the world.< D'Souze words, and I agree with him. So, people learn a little, and stop making blank statements, books are free at the libaray ya know.

Wait a minute... America isnt civilized??? wtf??? Anyway.. The reason they ask is mostley for the national statistics poll. They also come around once every couple years and ask questions about your household. I forgot what it's called, but they want to know how many people live in your house, your race, your annual income, ages and things like that. It helps them know more about the country's people. (ie.. 10% of single mothers live in middle america and make $xxx a year)

I know what you are saying. For a country that is supposed to be a democracy and is one of the super powers we still have some very "puritan" ideas and compared to many other countries are very far behind, and not just with the race issue but with sexuality, civil rights etc.

Blame it on the equal opportunities and affirmative action supporters who feel like quotas on races have to be met with every little thing.

It is not uncivilized to keep up with people by color, money, education, & dozens of other ways. It helps us track violence on certain groups, voting tendacies, income, unemploment & etc.
We can only help a certain group if we can identify them of needing help.

The civilisation you refer to is related to mental superioty and not material superiority. USA is materially supirior but not mentally which i mean spiritually to consider every one euqal!
