There is a substance in the liver called glycogen. Liver glycogen is a
relatively labile store of chemical energy and of carbohydrate. If one
fasts for 24 hours or more, the liver is virtually depleted of glycogen.
With constant access to food, liver glycogen is continuously being both
formed and broken down at a relatively rapid rate. The only thing the soft
drink has a relationship to the liver is that the sugar in the drink would
contribute to the liver glycogen stores. More soft drink intake would
enhance glycogen stores.Other compounds, as caffeine in cola drinks, would
be rapidly excreted.

I don't think there any long term links as of yet.
Irregular heart rate and increased blood pressure are two knowns but you have make your own decision an wether the ailments can effect your liver.
There are heavy amounts of caffine (as much as two cans of coke) and taurine.
See your doctor

no but all the sugar (and dyes) they contain can seriously harm your teeth. i read on yahoo health (or maybe cnn) that they were worse for your teeth than soda, tea, and coffee combined.
