There are several official languages in India (not including the hundreds of dialects). Let's see how many I can remember...

Hindi
Urdu
Tamil
Kanada

Ummm.... what else?

Malayalam
Devanagari (or is that only a script?)
Telugu
Bengali
Gujarati
Punjabi

There are more (i believe more than 20), but I can't remember them all...

The national language is suppose to be Hindi but not everyone speaks it. Haven't seen one indian that speaks hindi, though they think they are speaking it. But what they really are speaking is a mix of urdu, punjabi and hindi. For example MEIN is not a Hindi word but Hindi speakers use it instead of HUM.
