It's definitely not common, but yes, there have been men who have gotten breast cancer.

Oh yes, but it is far less common in men than women. I have been a mammographer since 1992, and I have found 3 breast cancers in men over the years.

"Male breast cancer is a rare condition, accounting for only about 1% of all breast cancers. The American Cancer Society estimates that approximately 1690 new cases of male breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2005, resulting in about 460 deaths (in comparison, over 40,000 women die of breast cancer each year). Breast cancer is 100 times more common in women than in men. Most cases of breast cancer are detected in men between the ages of 60 and 70, although the condition can develop in men of any age."

Yes, men do sometimes get breast cancer. However, the total incidence is quite low as this sort of a cancer in male breast is rare.

YES!! A friend of mine had it. It is difficult for men with this type of cancer tho because there are few or no support groups for men with breast cancer. It is treated very much the same as women. He had to have surgery to remove the tumor, chemo ad radiation therapy. Good luck with this.

Yes. My husbands uncle just had surgery for breast cancer. His uncle also had two sisters that also had breast cancer. So family history definitely plays a part.

Absolutely, but rare, in the range of 1% of breast cancers are in men. I once took care of a husband and wife who were both fighting breast cancer.........what are the odds of THAT?

99% of breast cancer cases occur in women, but there have been men who have gotten breast cancer. However, this should not occur as long as the men are fit and do not have excess fat on their chest.
