There are times that a mama cat does not produce enough milk, the way you can tell is how active the kitten is. If the kitten is very listless and doesn't suckle enthusiastically than I would supplement feedings. You can buy over the counter bottles, nipples and mother's milk for kittens.

If the kitten was not getting enough milk it would constantly meow.
A kitten getting enough milk has a Plump belly and is content. If the kitten is meowing alot and not latching on for long it could be a weak kitten (these kittens sometimes quite often die) So if your at all concerned call a vet out straight away. You will probably be advised to hand rear it which is very time consuming, The vet will show you how to feed the kitten correctly. Please do not attempt to do it yourself without any knowledge of this subject. Watch them for a little while and if you are still concerned i would defiantly get advice from vet.

You can't really tell. The best bet is to supply the cat mama with enough quality food to ensure it produces enough milk.

The milk from the cat within the first few minutes gives immunity to the kitten. if the kitten survives few days, then there is no problem

You should ask yourself," Is she more skinny than she should be? Is she ALWAYS trying to get more milk out of her mother, and is she always whining for more?" If no is the answer to all three of these questions than chances are she's fine. But I do recommend asking a vet anyway.

Kittens cry when they are cold or hungry. If mom feeds them and they have a round belly then they could be cold. Don't have them next to a vent that blows cold air.

if there is a concern take the mother and kittens to the vet.and let the vet answer your question. there are too many possibility's and any answer here will be a guess as we can not see the animal involved.

Cat's have been doing what they do since the beginning of time. They don't need your help now.

She is. It's a natural process. Unless the mother is refusing to feed it, it will be fine.
