My friend is very skinny.
She eats enough, and maybe even too much, especially food that would make any other person fat, but cant gain weight and thats bothering her.
She doesnt have some typical eating disorder.

Is there some food she could eat, some things to try on, vitamins, exercises, alternative meds....anything?

Thank you!

Eat potatoes just before bed because the starch will store in places where its needed. Eat any sort of starchy food such as rice, bread etc. .Drink 1 glass of wine a day it will help slow down metabolism sounds crazy but it actually works. Take women's once a day Milti- vitamin. Drink any vitamin shakes that she likes (or can stand the taste of anyways!) Equate brand/Wal-mart vanilla isn't bad. Do muscle building exercises only (nothing to burn calories) I have struggled with this for years and all of the above helped me !!! Good luck to her!!

The type of food to be eaten is an important factor which decides the type of weight gained, whether it is muscle mass or mere accumulation of fat. Some types of calories are not equal to others for gaining muscle; because most processed junk food contains empty, totally nutritionless calories. These foods promote accelerated fat storage, and do not provide the body with the correct nutrients essential for gaining muscle. High quality protein, which the body breaks down into amino acids, should be the centerpiece of all your meals. Intense exercise increases demand for amino acids, which support muscle repair and growth.

It could help to check on her thyroid. I have friends that are just like that. If they eat 5 pounds of jelly(which they don't) then they won't gain anything. I on the other hand would gain so much, although I'm not too fat or too skinny. Anyway, you shouldn't worry too much and you should tell your friend to eat normal, don't keep eating fat foods to prove a point. Exercise normally. Maybe she lives with a certain diet which allows her to be skinny, or that she exercises daily. It doesn't sound much like a problem.

she could just have a high metabolism and thats why she doesn't gain any weight. besides it depends on her age. if she is still a teenager, she shouldn't worry too much because she will definitely put on some weight as she gets older. but if she is an adult, she might want to get that taken care of.
