I'm so glad you asked.

If you burn our flag , you insult a nation and those that have given there lives that we have freedom.

Our flag is a symbol of all we are, it is the most recognized flag on the Earth. I was proud to fight for it and one adorns my home all year round.

UNDER GOD:

a nation surrendering to the will of God, Realizing God as their King.
I remember when I was 9 years old in the forth grade , Under god was added to our pledge of allegiance. It was 1954. I was so proud to pledge my allegiance to America and to God.

It was written in the old testament that if a Nation carry the standard of God, It will prosper and not fail.

To me "one nation under God" reflects how important God was to the founders of this country. In the early days of settling this country (back when many nations owned parts of what is now America) people came here because they couldn't (by law) worship God the way they wanted to.
In America we say, Worship God to the dictates of your own conscience. If that means believing in God, GREAT! Wonderful, I agree. If it means you don't believe in God, I feel for you, but that's your right, even if I think your wrong, you have the right to believe that.
The flag is a physical symbol of what this country stands for. It represents America and Americans - the good, the bad, and the ugly of all Americans and all that America is. Do you have the right to burn it - yes. Should you - no. When Americans burn the flag, to me, it's like saying - "I don't agree with anything this flag stands for. Not just one thing, but all things. I dislike all the things this nation represents so much that before I leave it, I want to show you how much I hate you and it." Unfortunatly few actually leave. When the American flag is burned out of hate I don't think they're burning God nor do I think the flag is in any way a representation of God.

If you burn the American flag are you burning God?
No, God is NOT a flag. He is God.

What does "one nation under God" mean?
One nation created and devoted to God.

Is flag Idol God? No. The flag has nothing to do with God. If you worship the flag for some strange reason, then it's an idol you worship before God. And, that's sin.

No.

An American flag is a symbol of the country. The American flag has no Christian ties whatsoever. It is a symbol of the original 13 colonies, and the now 50 states of America...nothing more, nothing less. Every single country has one.

As for, one nation under God...that would go back to the days when the nation was founded by Christian men who founded it upon the Bible on the way it was to be governed. Due to time changing, as well as society, this nation is not exactly "Under God" in my eyes anymore.

The flag of any nation is considered "sacred." Historians say that "the ritual of flag-worship and oath taking is a religious observance. The Suprme Court affirmed that as a fact in a series of cases."( The American Character by D.W. Brogan pages 163,164 )
Flags have become a divinity of patriotic religion which imposes worship. The flag is indeed venerated . Allegiance should not be given to anyone or anything on this earth, for our allegience belongs to God alone.

No you are not burning God! What you are doing is desecrating a symbol of America. A symbol which American Solders have made the supreme sacrifice for! So that you are able to enjoy the freedoms that you now have! Such as the right to free speech, the right to assemble and yes, the right to burn an American flag if you so choose. "One nation under God" is exactly what it means. Since humans are of a finite mindset, they can only exists due to the Creator, GOD, who's infinite!

God allows governments to stand in their relative position by his power, but he does not favor any nations, just because men write under god into their constitution doesn't mean God favors us. The flags of nations are seen as idols. If God favored any nation, why then does the Bible state that he is going to destroy all the kingdoms of the earth? Only Gods Kingdom has the right to rule, which will come shortly.

The US flag is in no way representative of God but rather representative of our nation. The phrase "one nation under God" is meant to mean that we are one people under God's good grace & rule. The flag is not an idol but a symbol or our nation.

Anyone who burns a flag is burning the constitution, bill of rights, and everything that this country represents.
I don't think that they would care about burning the bible aether.

They are in fact anti-American, and anyone who feels it is there right to do so is also an anti-American. It is a shame if the person was raised here in the US. I feel a fund should be created and send them to what ever country they want to go to but get them out of the US.

Under god was added in the 1950's, America is not a theocracy. It was "one nation" when founded. So the flag has nothing to do with god.
