Use a ceramic flat brush to brush your hair while you are drying it. Put your dryer on the cold setting. It will take longer, but it will make your hair more flat. Do not flip your head upside down to get the underside of your hair! Don't tease your hair while drying it either. After it's dry, you can use a straightener to get the poof out a little more.
I know I am fabulous!

omg! mine is exactly the same i hate it too! well what i do is blowdry my hair from the top and straight down! i also before blowdrying i use matrix spray (leave in conditioner!)and i try not to brush it soo much while blowdrying! or it might make it more poofy! my hair is naturally straight too but i still straighten it too make it less poofy! oh and if u straighten your hair get e.texture from a perfesional hair place.its a black bottle but it works really good (it makes your hair not as poofy and protects it from the straightener! well hope i helped!!

This MIGHT help... I have this mousse by Herbal Essences that is for straight hair. It makes my hair look good without having to do anything else to it. If that doesn't work, put some lotion in your hair while it's wet. Yes, lotion. Anything from Bath & Body Works will work. Not too much though, but about a quarter sized amount for shoulder length hair. It'll make it easier to brush your hair and it might reduce the "poofy-ness".

You should buy a serum or a calming milk cream. Like biosilk or Garnier Smoothing Milk. After you blow dry run a small amout through your hair. It works great and smells even better.

i believe there is something that made for that. try something that reduces heat, that should deffinately make it less poofy and damaged. You could probably find it in a drugstore.

Letting your hair air-dry helps. It seems to work for me.
