Sure, go and sign up and fight an illegal(war?) invasion. But do ask yourself why you would want to go into Iraq and risk losing your life. What did Iraq do to our country to justify an invasion? Please don't say they attacked us on 9/11 cuz it's been proven they had nothing to do with it. What are you accomplishing by killing innocent people in a far off land. How will that make us any safer when we're getting more people to hate us for killing their loved ones? Think about all of this and then make your choice.

Personally I think going into any military service is a bad idea. The Air force is, however, the most run like a business and the most based on personal achievement (unlike the Marine Corps where everything is based on everyone making the grade) Boot camp is boot camp no matter what branch you choose.
The only reasons I know of for anyone to put themselves through such a thing is if they actually have no real options for education and employment as you can learn a trade with the military. You do not always get to choose that trade. I will give you an example I am aware of personally.
My brother joined the Air Force, told them he would take any job at all as long as he did not have to kill people. His grades were high enough they decided for him to teach him to load bombs. He went through every chaplain of every faith, saying always he had a moral objection to taking life and that to load bombs was contributing to taking life so he would not do that.
He would carry a medical bag and go into the fight but would not carry a gun. They would not listen, and after years of him being on the verge of sent to war / court martial, they finally gave him a c.o. discharge. (conscientious objector) They could have given him a job he would not have to kill or be party to killing, but they would not. He was willing ot serve his country, just not kill for it.

I don't know about the air force, however, I can highly recommend the navy. I enlisted shortly after finishing high school because I was not ready for college. The four years I spent in the navy were the most beneficial of my life. I learned discipline, punctuality, consideration and above all else, I traveled free. The health insurance benefits were great also. I recommend any branch of the military.

My son wanted to join the air force, but he was too young so they wouldn't talk to him. His ambition...to be a mechanic on the most important aviation structure...He ended up signing with the Army and is moving up in the ranks of Apache Helicopter personnel. He's been there two years and loves it..but his first choice was the Air Force. If they'll take you, GO FOR IT!!!!!

Almost as safe as the navy without the sea sickness. Just be sure you are in a job where you won't be put on guard duty or you could still come home in a box if stationed at Baghdad international airport.

the air force is actually a decent branch to go into, they're just pansies.the prt for the air force is walking six minutes on a treadmill,so if you're that lazy then by all means go to the air force.but I would say that the navy is a better choice. You get better pay, better treatment, and you'll be in much better shape.

yes it is. but do your research first and don't go off of what the recruiter says. they have a quota on recruits they have to get in each month. do not come in open general for your job. get a guaranteed job if not don't sign. you can get out anytime with no penalty for the first year. they will not tell you that but it can be done. I am in the Air Force and it is a good place to be but get into the right job.

I think so. My dad was in the Air Force as a mechanic. I forgot what rank he was but I think he might have been an Airman 1st Class. Eventhough it was hard work he enjoyed it. ..and of course he would...loves airplanes and engines.
