It seems like the first Mustangs that we could buy came to the showrooms in 1965. The first one made would belong to some collector. I can remember what they looked like, they were a nice looking sporty car. We used to go into the country and drink in one, as I think about it I think it was 1964. A bunch of us construction workers used to get our unemployment checks and get a couple of cases of malt liquor and head into the country. As I think back to the job we were on that would have been 1964, the year my oldest daughter was born. It must have been a good year. The car though was yellow and had a 6 cyclinder engine. Sorry about that, at my age I need to ramble some to get my thoughts together.

The first one off the assembly line (i.e. available to the public) is in a museum somewhere...was on a "mustang" special on the "Speed" channel not long ago. Don't know exactly where it's located, however.

I'm going to take a guess.

Dearborn, MI and it's probably in someone's private collection.
