The root of the problem is neglect, child abuse, alcoholism and drugs. The root of all crime is cultural, and needs to stop the pattern.
The other pattern of crime is that you will find a case of Keystone light at every domestic or disturbance.

AHH. I went to Kaplan University Online and took their Paralegal program. I graduated in December 2005. You should ask the Honor Society for help. I know there is one since I was a member. They will be able to help you.

Well, we are SWIMMING in methamphetamine down here in Southwest Missouri. I know from experience 2/3rds of our felony crime in 2002 - 2005 was methamphetamine related. Meth cooks neglect their kids - which overburdens child welfare. The meth labs are dangerous - which lowers property value, can cause fires and other health hazards. The dealers tend to shoot each other, the users steal, beat their wives and go on shooting rampages. They don't work, so more of them are on welfare and because of the stealing, dealing and shooting, are overcrowding our jails. And the real tweakers burden the 911 dispatchers with hysterical reports of rampaging monkeys attacking their trailers.

Violence is the greatest threat to the public in terms of seriousness. In terms of prevalence theft, burglary and drug related crime are the most common. See stats: http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/glance.htm#Crime
Violent crimes of all types have showed a steady decline since the early 90s.

Anyone that harms a child, is the biggest threat. In my opinion anyone that causes physical or severe emotional harm to a child should be killed. I know thats sounds harsh, but it is my opinion.
Good luck on your essay

Drugs! I know it sounds like a minor crime & drug users are only hurting themselves, right? Wrong. Once hooked on drugs, users will do anything to support their habit - steal, lie, cheat, & kill - all crimes from misdemeanor to death penalty. Not only that but while they are under the influence, they are not in their right mind - this is where you get the child, spouse, & elder abuse not to mention rape & molestation.
