I was married to my partner of 10 years, Travis, last year on our anniversary in British Columbia. What I want to know is, how does my marriage (yes, it is a marriage, and I have the license to prove it) affect your lives? I could care less about your children, your religion and your lifestyle. Why not let my pursuit of life, liberty and happiness rule my life and let you run your life they way you want to? I don't go around telling Christians, Jews and Muslims that their life is wrong. Why not leave me out of your issues and focus on yourselves for a change? We have bigger issues at hand, like people dying for oil and the middle class getting screwed by the government.

The argument deals with whether it may negatively impacy 'the family' in the long run. It not an unreasonable inquiry although for most people its just an excuse to hate on homosexuals.

I think it probably wont hurt the image or success of the nuclear family, however, i would like to see some research before a thunbs up conclusion.

Otherwise, Im very pro-gay rights...peace.

I tend to agree, but I go a step more and say government has no business in marriage in all. If people want civil contracts, straight or not, that is their own business, but the act of marriage is not an issue that should involve the state on any level.

Who is obsessed? Sounds like you are. No one is preventing you from living your life the way you want. You may HEAR things in the media or whatever. And maybe people are "telling" you what they think of the way you live. But so what? How does that prevent you from doing what you want?

Other people's opinions are none of your business. So just live and let live and stop being so self-righteous about it. Sounds to me like you WANT people to b itch about your lifestyle so you can then tell us how persecuted you are.

Frankly my dear, no one gives a damn.

Love, Jack.

It's sad that you have this sick fixation and persistence to force it in people's faces and they don't want to see it. Homosexuality is an abomination unto God. I couldn't care less what you do and the choices that you have made. The state that I live in don't allow it (Thank God) and as long as homosexuals stay in there closets it is great for me! As long as the topic arises here and in my state I will speak against it and vote against. Gays will Never be accepted by the norm and the majority. You are right when you say "we have bigger issues" but our churches, governments, laws and my child's education will not be infringed upon by ungodliness and perversion!

Well, I am a Christian, and I believe the Bible. In Leviticus, it clearly states for no man to lay with another.
But, I won't judge you for the choices you make, because that is not my place., and none of my business.
Besides I keep my thoughts to myself, even though we do have freedom of speech and expression. I have more important things to worry about and fret over than what another person believes or does with their lives.

I am not obsessed with your homsexual union, I do beleive it is an abomination to God, since he meant for a union to be between a man and a woman, so that could submit to each other as he is the church, not only could they love him, and each other, but bare fruit by bringing children into the world, you are correct there a lot more things to be concerned with, but this is indeed as big as anything no matter what God love you, he love all of us no matter what our sin is . we all sin and fall short, but when I sin I have an advacate with my Father. I repent. When we live out of the will of God we forfiet our blessings, I would not give up my belief or relationship with Jesus for anything. You are loved, God bless you

I'm sorry that people aren't better to you. It's like asking why there is racism or sexism in the world: there is no excuse. There is no reason for anyone to discriminate against you based on sexual orientation, it is ignorance, evil, self-interest, etc. that motivates such persecution. On behalf of all the straight people in the world, I apologize to you.

It looks as if you are the one who is obsessed with your Union, regardless of how you seem it the 97% of the population is heterosexual, it is the norm. If you do things outside of the norm that is going to attract attention.

It would probably serve your cause better if you were not so dramatic about it, you are reinforcing stereotypes of gays.
