1. Because of the authenticity and accuracy of Scripture. The Bible has been proven to be accurate in history, ethics and doctrine, over and over again.

2. The life of Christ. He was a historic figure, documented by not only the eyewitness accounts given in two of the gospels, but also by writings outside the Bible. None of those writings outside Scripture refute or contradict any of the Biblical accounts.

3. Christs resurrection. The evidence is very strong that this happened. For one thing, at that time, the Jews or the Romans could have easily squashed Christianity by presenting the corpse of Jesus, they couldn't do it. It wasn't there.

4. The change of the apostles. They changed from a scared bunch to a bold group of believers overnight. All but one died for his belief in the risen Christ. They would be the ones to know if it happened. No one dies knowingly for a lie.

Why do I think Christianity is true? Because I had an encounter with the living God, and He showed me.

For me, I had just left an abusive relationship and my
life was on the line. My husband had a gun out and was
going to shoot me. I ran...and got on a plane to Frisco. On the plane I was shaking uncontrollably and
looked out the window...we were above the clouds...the
beauty of what I was looking at just flooded me until
nothing else was there...peace filled me. I heard
myself say, "God, if you're really there...I put my
life in Your hands. I've failed miserably at
everything...I can't do it anymore." And then I
finally started crying. The sobs came from deep inside
me, all the repressed fear, hurt, pain came flooding
out. And then I heard a gentle whisper in my
head..."I've always had you...you've never been out of
my sight...I even saw you when you tied your first
shoelace." And then it was like a liquid warmth filled
me. I thought I would melt into oblivion. It was like
I had given Him my mess, and He would give me His
help. And He did.

When I got off the plane it was as though everyone
went out of their way to help me. I found a place to
live, a job, and found that I was right across the
street from a christian community. After I got settled
I heard the gentle voice again. He said, "I want you
to meet My Son." So I went into a meeting at the
christian center and heard about Jesus. I learned
about the Gift God offers through Him. And having
experienced God first hand I had no trouble receiving
what His Son had to Give, and what He had to Say. So,
it didn't begin with a Book for me, it began with an
encounter. The Book came later.

Seek the Son while He may be found...once you pass
through Him by accepting His Gift, then He gives you
His Spirit to teach you and show you all that He wants
you to know. He uses the Bible, other people,
situations...but you're no longer trying to figure
everything out yourself. You are given a Helper.

Leaving my "feelings" out of this, 1. Christianity has been the most highly scrutinized religion ever. People have been trying to disprove it for over 2000 years-to no avail. There have been more ancient documents, artifacts, and structures to support the validity of the Bible than any other text. Every time something comes us to disprove part of the Bible, more evidence is discovered to disprove the disproof.
2. The testimony of the disciples and the apostles Paul. These men were there with Jesus. There were there when He died and when He ascended into Heaven. If Jesus was not the Son of God why would these men hold on to a lie for so long. These men did not die of old age, they died horribly for their beliefs. They were stoned to death, flayed, boiled, and crucified. Would you go through all that for a lie? I wouldn't.

I was born a Protestant, and Became a Catholic after studying other Faiths.

First, I believe in God. I don't think we just showed up.

Next, I believe in Jesus, there is enough independent evidence that I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. He is the perfect example of how we are to live in Peace and Love for each other.

I became Catholic after years of study, and to me it is the one true Church that Jesus started and even pre-dates the New Testament.

Good Question!
Peace!

The reason I believe Christianity is "true" is because it truly changed my life. I'm a Christian because it works for me, and I've personally witnessed it change the lives of others.
I don't follow it because it's "true," but because it's effective. (Yes, I know that's very utilitarian and extremely pragmatic).

I believe it to be true because it changed my life.
I was a miserable wreck until I cried out to God one day in desperation.
Why I believe in God? Because when I called out to him, he answered me and my life hasn't been the same since!
