maybe cause you're not petting her right, try scratching on her back right where her back legs would meet, that's where one my cats *her name is killer cause she kills alot of things* likes to be scratched.

i'm really not sure... never owned a can.
some cats are not big on purring - our oldest cat is like that and for a long time he would only purr when he was playing with his latest kill. but in reality, it was a really really quiet purr the rest of the time. he's an inside cat now, but even before that he started purring more... mostly when my husband (who's cat he actually is) was gone for longer periods of time, now he does it whenever either of us pet him, but it's still not super loud.

Her adrindlin is flowing and she has shown dominice and letting anything or anyone in the area know she's a Cold Blooded Killer!!!
