No, there's a "wet foot, dry foot" policy. If they find you on the sea, then you are returned to Cuba. If you make it to land, you are taken as a refugee. After a year, the person can adopt resident status, and then after I think 5 years, they are eligible to become citizens.

No I don’t think so they would still have to eventual take a test to become a citizen. However if they make it to land with out being caught they can not be deported back to Cuba.

That should be ended, too. Cuba's got lots of potential, someday when they decide to be civil they could be rolling in legitimate money. But, it's up to them, stay out there and rot on an island, or join the 21st century...time's a wastin'...

no where did you hear that bullshit. its not true. they have a wet foot and a dry foot law. if they can get into the us without being caught they can stay if theyre picked up in the water theyre returned to cuba.

no rather they become a cuban refuge it's a political strategy from the 60's to depopulate the island

No...but if they make it to land, they are given politcal asylum. They still have to pass the same tests, etc., as all other immigrants in order to earn citizenship.

its true once you reach america you become an american .unlike people from puerto rico who are born citizens.
