Cats normally do not pant as dogs do unless extremely overheated or stressed. Much of the time what cat owners may perceive as panting is really another type of behavior called the flehman reaction. When a cat smells something it is interested in or something extremely pungent, it may curl back its lips and open its mouth to further investigate the scent. What your cat is doing is tasting the smell it has detected. This is completely natural behavior and no cause for alarm. However it is not good for them to be panting heavily. This means they are overheated and should be calm down and be in a cool place. Try not to overexert your kittie.

Cats will sometimes pant when they get hot, when they are nervous, and even when they get stressed. I have two cats of my own and they have both panted. But the only time I have ever seen them pant is when they are in their carriers going to the vet.

I wonder if depends on the age of the cat. My sister recently got a kieen (about 9 weeks old) and he pants all the time when he's running and playing.

Panting is normal, but is a sign of distress - either over-heating (almost near heatstroke) or extreme anxiety. If you see your cat panting, figure out why and do something to make him comfortable.

Yes, cats do pant, but they don't slober like dogs do. They pant to help cool themselves off or when they get nervous.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7EO
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

My cats normally pant when they have been playing and they get hot. If the enviroment they are in is warm it could cause them to pant.
