That's hard isn't it? I used to struggle with that and keep asking forgiveness for the same things over and over because I felt so guilty. The Bible says (1st John 1:9) all we have to do is trust Him, and He will forgive us and cleanse us. Psalms 32:1 "Blessed is the man whose sins are forgiven" and Psalms 130:3 "If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? verse 4, "But with you is forgiveness, therefore you are feared" Sometimes the devil will come at you and worry you with it. Trust Jesus, He said He'd do it and He will. In Hebrews 7:25 it says He is ALWAYS before the Throne interceding for us. Hang on to that.

There are, surprisingly to many Christians, actually requirements for forgiveness. They are as follows:
1. You have confessed (this means acknowledge what you did and that it was wrong. Often quite emotional.)
2. You have repented (this means expressed a true desire to never do it again.)
3. Some would argue this one, but is there anyone that YOU have not forgiven? Some believe that Christ can't forgive you if you yourself hold unforgiveness. I don't know what my belief on the subject is; I just try to forgive, "as Christ has forgiven me." (By the way, if you've confessed unforgiveness, and are currently repenting of it and trying to forgive, I really really think that counts.)
There you go. Far as the east is from the west. Ask Him to help you overcome the temptation, but as far as the sin goes, it no longer exists.

There is no partial way there. For instance, you won't find Jesus forgiving 14 sins from yesterday but not the 6 from today. Being in the forgiveness of Christ is a state of existence. Each sin does not require its own forgiveness. How do you know when you have reached this state of existence? People tell me they just know, that there is no doubt in their minds. So for you, it might be when you don't need to ask this question :)

When they get saved. When they go up to the preacher and say the magic words, and he says "You been saved"
As a matter of fact, when you get saved you can still commit sins, cause once you're saved you're always saved.
Most chuch people know about the Once Saved Always Saved clause, I'm surprised you don't know about it. Where you from anyway?
My wife lied to me about our finances, and put several thousand on credit cards, also she stole three thousand from our emergency bank account, which I only found out about when the bank called and told me she was bouncing checks.
Lying and stealing are sins, but she was saved several years ago by the method I described at top, so she is still saved and does not have to worry about those sins.
If you don't know about this you need to study your Bible. Forgivenness, whether you repent or not, is automatic -- if you've gone through the proper steps to be saved.

The Bible says that your sins are forgiven and forgotton. That they are as far from you as the east is from the west. Jesus not only died for all the sins of the world... he gave up his throne in heaven for you and me. That is a BIG price to pay...

If you have truly confess your sins and repented, asked for forgiveness, forgive anyone you have not forgiven, and accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior...then case closed. It's a done deal. God knows your heart. Just read your bible everyday and your faith will grow.
"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. " Matthew 6:14-15

Accept that you have been forgiven, walk by faith, and stop doing the stuff that you had to be forgiven for in the first place!

1 John 1:9 (Whole Chapter)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Don't doubt it, my friend. You are forgiven.
Don't listen to the nay sayers on here.....they will try their best to bring you down...just know that you have confessed your sins and you are free now...you are forgiven!
Congrats!
I'm praying for you and rejoicing in your freedom!

A) Have you been baptized? That wipes all sin, including the stain of "original sin".
B) Have you sinned since being baptized? If so have you repented those sins, confessed them to God, and asked for His forgiveness? If so, and if you have tried to amend your ways, then you are forgiven.
Remember, God is infinite and everything about Him is as well. His forgiveness is just as infinite. If you want it, if you ask for it, if you're sorry for your sins, then you got it!
Bless you.

If you believe Christ died on your behalf, it's a done deal.
Don't look back. Study the Word.
Forgiveness is one-time and irrevocable (although some will debate that too)
