Our son is a Marine and he is in his last month of deployment in Iraq. He has been through a lot and has even been awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in an attack. He is homesick and I want to do all I can to boost his moral. His name is Jason and it's his first tour over there. I have been sending him the messages that people have posted for him and he is in awe at the wonderful things everyone has said. I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to do this for him. We appreciate it so much!

Hi Jason!! I also have a son named Jason who was mustered out of the Army about 3 years ago after 10 years of service. I was fornuate enough not to have to worry about his deployment, as he never went into combat, but I know how I would have felt if he had been deployed to Iraq or anywhere else that involved combat. It must be terribly hard on your family, but I am sure that they are as proud of you as we all are, and although I don't truly believe that what we are doing is the right thing, I truly am proud of our men and women that serve this country in the most giving and brave way there is, as a soldier. Thank God for men like you Jason, there are not enough words to express my gratitude for your service and the love you are showing for your family and country. May God bless you and yours and keep you safe. I will be praying for you!!!
Thank you,
Mary D.

Tell him he is in every ones thoughts and prayers. A another idea to boost his moral is send him care packages, with cookies, jerky, koolaide, batteries, baby powder, bags of gum ( like double bubble), trail mix, cereal bars, sun flower seeds, pumpkin seeds, baby wipes, bathroom tissue, slim jims, and baby wipes come in handy. When he gets that box from home with this stuff it will really boost his moral, just avoid sending any thing chocolate over to him candy wise.
