For a moment forget about the entire immorality of the draft and think about this. If women want to be full citizens, which they are, then shouldn't they be forced to sign up for the draft. If the entire purpose of the draft is to "fight for your country" then shouldn't they be forced to go to war if we need them?

There are alot of jobs in the military that don't have to deal with shooting a gun.

I think that if chicks want to bit*h about equal rights then they should be forced to be equal. Yes, they should have to sign up. However, we live in a society where people want double standards and chicks want equal pay without equal work. So no, it will never happen.....But it should.

Oh, I imagine if it came down to a draft then our country was at serious risk. I'd probably just volunteer. I come from a military family.

Other then that...I think men are probably better suited than women for lotsa different reasons. Women aren't usually in the thick of it even today. Yeah we serve and do a part but we still aren't up front with the boys. Personally it doesn't offend me.

*Yeah, for non combat things then I imagine chicks should probably be drafted but then again...if there is a couple with children then you can't draft both parents, etc. So it all depends I guess...hopefully we'll never get to that point.

Yes. I feel that women should be included in the draft, fight on the front lines (nails be damned), and serve with honor. I don't think they should be left out. Women wanted equality in the past and yes, they are in the military now, and are out in the field hearing the bullets whizzing by. At the same time, I feel that the ENTIRE prison population should be drafted and sent into battle: gang members, serial killers, child molestors, and all. Think of all the money we would save from giving them "3 hots and a cot."

Well if the husband is fighting in the war, you actually feel that his wife should be drafted too? Suppose they both have 2-5 small ones at home? Then what? Send the children to the grandparents? Are you speaking of all women or women who don't have children? Should they take the children with them? I feel that if women are willing to go to war they should go. But the war has nothing to do with full citizenship. I say send all the people in jail to fight the war. They like to kill and rape and steal etc. Send their a*sses to the war zone!

No, woman should only have to go to war if they choose. With that said if the draft is ever reinstate woman will likely be a part of it. Its not like some men didn’t avoid the draft the first time around, many would leave the country going to Canada or abroad to get out of it.

Who will raise America's children? Should they be put in foster care so mommy and daddy can go off to war? What women do here is just as important and necessary as what men in the military are doing. Things are not equal for men and women anyway. I might be more supportive of this idea if women weren't already expected to be and do all things at once to even be considered half as good as a man. We still don't even get equal pay.

equality means sharing the responsibilities in society, part of that is defending the country and the country's intrests when threatened. yes, 18 comes, sign up for the draft--which is more than taking up a gun, the support roles for troops on the front is just as important.
Anyone who complains should be forced to suck it up if it ever does come down to the draft.

Yes, and I bet the new draft laws will include women, and that women will serve just as they do in Israel. They will largely be kept away from combat areas, which will send a higher percentage of male draftees to the dangerous areas. In addition, there are now a lot of oursourced jobs such as food service so the odds of a guy being sent to a combat zone will be even greater still. To summarize, males will = cannon fodder.

Your absolutely correct!
I think men should stay home and take care of the kids while our women fight for the country.
Why not. They already get the good jobs and when it comes right down too it they will always be better off than a man during hard times cause they are sitting on a gold mine.

That would make sense except that women by offical military rules are barred from combat and specific jobs like driving a tank. I think this would create a disproportionate about of GI's in support areas when they could really use the extra people on the front lines.

It could have a lot to do with procreation?
If there are only 10 men say and 9 die in battle...leaving one man...
he could bring back the population by impregnating 10 women = ten babies per year.
On the other hand...if 10 women fight and 1 is left....it would take 10 times as long to repopulate. Especially if there were more men...they'd kill each other anyway trying to get at that one woman. :D
