No, you will use weight at first but your body will come to a standstill quickly. Start eating 1400 calories per week and weigh only one time per week. Drink 8 oz water per day . when you stop losing weight decrease the amount of calories by 50 per week and increase exersize (walking is what i did) by 10 minutes per week.
I lost 100 lb. like this.

Absolutely not!

Remember, it's not how much you eat -- it's WHAT you eat that counts.

Check the labels on food you buy. If the fat calories total up to more than 25% of the total calories of a serving, don't buy it.

This pretty much cuts out, among other things, mayonnaise and butter. (Margarine too.) Both have very high fat-calorie percentages.

I'd eat at least 2,000 HEALTHY calories a day -- and ratchet up your exercise from 8 minutes a day to something more like 45 to 60.

At eight minutes a day, your body isn't even kicking into a mode where it can burn off what you've eaten beforehand -- let alone the stored fat that you still need to burn off.

Go for long walks at first, and gradually build in some short runs interspersed with your walking.

And -- do this walking (running) FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. That's when your body is in prime fat-burning mode.

http://www.mypyramid.gov/ One size doesn't fit all...the amount of calories needed by one person is not the same for everyone...we are all built differently, with diff. metabolisms, levels of activity, etc. Mypyramid.gov will help you make healthy choices, track your food intake and tell you what amounts are right for YOU.

900 calories is not enough for any human being, no matter how inactive they are, or what they eat. You need at least 1800-2000 just to live and keep your body functioning....that is what your body expends in energy to keep you alive.

Most people trying to lose weight are often surprised to learn that eating less can sometimes slow down your metabolism and therefore slow down the amount of weight loss. Most weight loss experts agree that when you eat very small amounts of calories, the body "thinks" that there is not enough food available and will slow down your metabolism in an attempt to conserve energy.

Therefore, it is possible, that eating too little can actually slow down your weight loss.

This weight loss theory is fairly simple to follow. When the body does not have enough calories it will do everything it can to conserve the best stores of energy that it has. This means that it is possible that the body will, instead of using up the reserves of fat and making you thinner, actually start to burn the muscle tissue so that it can maintain a reserve of fat.

One possible way to make sure that this does not happen is to make sure that you are eating enough food to keep your body from believing that it should go into starvation mode while, at the same time, control your caloric intake so that you will achieve the weight loss that you desire.

There is not an answer that will suit everyone as to how many calories is enough to help with your weight loss. The best way to work out what is best for you is to visit a qualified nutritionist or weight loss expert who will be able to tell you the most appropriate amount of calories for your dietary requirements.

Although your metabolism can slow down when dieting to achieve weight loss, it is believed by many that exercise can speed up your metabolism. This may help in two ways. First, the metabolic rate can be higher when exercising and therefore help to burn off those extra calories. Also, exercising can lead to more muscle which can help burn more calories because muscle burns calories more quickly than fat.

Therefore, while it's true that some people naturally have a fast metabolism, there are things that you can do to speed up your own metabolism that will have a positive effect on weight loss.

Also, to burn more calories or get a faster metabolism, you need to increase your amount of muscle mass. Cardio will give burn off calories as you do the workout, but when you have muscles, you burn fat and calories all the time...even when you aren't working out. When you eat too few calories, your body will start to burn muscle tissue to survive....losing muscle is never a good thing. http://www.spineuniverse.com/displayarticle.php/article887.html

900 calories is not exactly a healty diet. How much are you trying to lose? Also, an 8 min. workout isn't going to do much for you. Your warm time should be at least that. If you want a quick workout, i had great success with Ti-Bo.

You won't burn many calories with an 8-minute workout, and 900 calories a day will put your body near "crisis mode." I recommend at least 1250 calories and a half-hour workout. This way, you won't be burning muscle or other valuable tissue, just fat calories.

900 calorires is WAY too drastic for you. You should not try to lose weight that way. You cannot get your body's nutritional requirements from that kind of a diet. PLEASE educate yourself about how to eat healthy. A normal teenage girl should have a daily intake of about 2200 calories. If you are trying to lose weight, you could decrease that to 1800 while you increase your daily physical activity, but dropping down to 900 calories a day is asking for trouble.

no way.. 900 calories a day? That's almost like starving yourself. Try a 2,000 calorie diet a day, and exercise for at least a half an hour

no, at 14 you should not be concerned about losing weight unless you are obese. you are still growing and your body needs foods from all four food groups to grow and develop naturally. if you want to tone up and get fit, make sure to exercise at least 30 minutes a day 5 days a week and your work outs should include cardio+weight work. as for your eating style, you should be consuming roughly 2000 calories a day to maintain your weight. you should be eating 3 moderate meals a day along with 3 snacks a day. cut out most of the soda you drink and replace it with water even flavored water is better than 1500 calories worth of pop. drink diet if you are a caffeine addict. you should be eating plenty of fresh, brightly colored fruits, vegies, berries every day along with lean proteins such as fish, chicken, ham, turkey, beans, peanut butter, nuts, and whole wheat, whole grain, high fiber breads, cereals, oatmeals, potatoes(light on the condiments), crackers, and popcorn along with soy products and low/nonfat dairy products. you need to feed your body to keep your metabolism revving. reducing calories that much will put it into starvation mode and it will save every calorie you eat. so get active and eat healthy. enjoy your teenage years and don't worry about your weight unless you have a severe problem. with proper eating and exercise, your body will become healthy and slender on its own. good luck

No, i wouldnt suggest this b/c every person should have at least a 2000 calorie intake per day. Exercise 3 days a week for 30 minutes each day. Remember, its not what you eat, but how much you eat.
