I don't know what the practical limits are exactly, but the physics of optics is against your idea.
The longer the telephoto, the more light it loses. So it has to get longer and wider to make it usable.
The wider the wide angle, the more distortion occurs. So you have to put in more compensating lenses.
So if the proposed lens gets longer and wider and has more elements, it also gets much heavier and more expensive. And it may be so big that it is impractical to carry around.
So you were right in the first place!

1. it will be very impractical to carry such heavy lens
2. the cost of production will be so high that no one would want to buy it even if all lens companies put their heads together to come up with this lens.
3. IF there is any company who would want to spend the incredible amount of money and time to produce the lens.
4. the lens itself will have an aperture from say, f/2-13 which beats the purpose of having such lens.
5. note that 18-200 is not a very professional lens though many people use it.

How much are your willing to pay and how much weight are you willing to carry? First, why would anyone want a 10mm lens? That's super-duper-wide angle (like looking through a door peephole) and everything is way distorted! Second, telephoto (the 600mm) gets as big as you want, but why buy that super telephoto lens for big $ when a tele-converter (2x,3x,4x,5x,6x) will do it for $20-$30. The big problem is aperture. Also, every photographer I've ever met has pretty much dumped the big expensive one focal length lens for wide-tele zooms, preferably one touch. Unless you are looking at stars, mega focal length lenses are useless. Get closer and you'll get less blurring.

A 10mm focal range would classify as a fish-eye lens and therefore would have a very round, ball shapped front lens element. That type of lens glass cannot be used to produce a magnified or telephoto lens.

for the technology with have nowadays it can be made.. but it'll be huge and you'll notice a very heavy barrel distortion in your picture.. and manufaturer don't do that because it's better to split it into different range (for now). in the future you might be able to get one

i think it'll be heavy plus your flas will have to be able to have a range that covers 600mm

Seems like it would be possible, but the packaging would be difficult. That's a huge optical range.
that's a 60X difference!
