My boyfriend is British. He doesn't talk much. He doesn't talk sex on the phone. He makes me feel like a total perv. It is like my forwardness is shocking. He claims he loves me and sends the most beautiful letters. He is working out of the Country. He seems to put work before me. He doesn't call for a few days. It is like a typical red-blooded American man, calls more, shows more emotion, and is more passionate. I love this man with all my heart, but get hurt by all the time on what I see as being inattentive. But people tell me that is a typical Brit.

I remember a joke I heard, I think it was from Rita Rudner...

"My boyfriend is English. He used to write me these incredibly passionate letters starting 'To whom it may concern...'"

Putting work before relationships is a problem men of most countries have, with the possible exception of Italy... If you want visible emotion, well, English men aren't going to be your cup of tea.

Sounds a bit odd to me. My husband isn't a Brit, but is an Aussie, and when we were apart, he called daily, multiple times and nothing or no one ever came before me.

don't worry, British men are used to being led around by their noses by their women.
