Here's a link to the government website about bankruptcy discharges.
http://www.ndb.uscourts.gov/forms/DischargeInfo.htm
"The timing of the discharge varies, depending on the chapter under which the case is filed. In a chapter 7 (liquidation) case, for example, the court usually grants the discharge promptly on expiration of the time fixed for filing a complaint objecting to discharge and the time fixed for filing a motion to dismiss the case for substantial abuse (60 days following the first date set for the meeting of creditors). Typically, this occurs about four months after the date the debtor files the petition with the clerk of the bankruptcy court."

Chapter 7 usually discharges is 4-6 months... Call the trustee's office and they can give you an idea when it's up for hearing.

Read the question everyone! He's not asking when it gets removed from the credit report. He's referring to his discharge.
See AnswerMom's response.
As usual, it will depend on the case load of the trustee/court and will vary. If there were complications (creditor disputes, bad paperwork) that will delay it.
Call your attorney. That's why you are paying him all those big bucks, remember?

It generally takes about three months for a bankruptcy petition to be discharged, that is you are granted relief from those debts. Your attorney should have told you this! Good Luck!

I think it takes 7 years to come off your credit report.
Not positive about that though!

Your attorney didn't tell you that? hmmm?
I think it was seven years, but under these new, stricter laws, I think they upped it to 10.
