it could be a oxygen sensor best to take it in to get checked out the car computer is sensing a fault in one of the systems
you will not be able to take it to advance due to it not being a obd11 vehicle the scanner they use will not comunicate . you may be able to pull the codes your self by using a code key that shorts out the the terminals on the diagnostic port under the dash causing the the check engine light to flash the trouble codes

Try and disconnect the battery for 10 or 15 minutes then reconnect. If it's a computer glich this sometimes clears it. If it does clear and turns on again, try what raiderpt1 said, could be the oxygen sensor. Good luck,

There is something in the engine that needs to be checked. It could be a glitch in the computer.
Go to advanced auto parts and hook it up to a diagnostic machine and it will tell you why it is on. AND IT"S FREE!!!

Could be a number of things could be low coolant, maybe low oil pressure. Get under the hood and start looking and listening. I'm serious when I say it could be a number of things.
