Originally Office 95 came with my notebook already installed. I tried uninstalling it through Add/Remove in Control Panel, but it asks for the CD which I do not have. Any ideas I can try?

To uninstall Win95 all you need to do is reformat the harddrive and that will wipe Win95 clean off - everything else also.

I remember way back when we could install Win95 from a stack of floppies. Check around and you might find a set if you want to reinstall. You can also get a Win95 or Win98 CD for $5.00, at least I did.

Personally I would reinstall with Linux. And if it were a PC with 64MB or less ram, I would probably install Puppy Linux. One version of Puppy, called Fat Puppy, has Open Office, a MS Office compatible set of office software. I haven't tried it yet on my old Dell notebook (40MB ram), but it should work.

A nice thing a many Linux distributions is that you can download and create a 'live CD' on your Windows PC. A live CD can be booted, showing you most of the distributions features. Of course you need your bios set to boot frist to the CD drive.
