Tom Edison did 100 time what Jesus did for man. When you are in a car accident, would you want a hospital made with scientific technology, or a priest to come pray? Jesus (if he existed) effects the modern world, Edison gave us the modern world.

Very poorly indeed. To begin with there is little in the Bible that would truly qualify as philosophical and almost nothing that could qualify as science. Those few philosophical concepts that are expressed are simple regurgitations of ideas that were ancient before the earliest Biblical authors existed. Nothing new and startling and little or no real discussion or examination in depth of these concepts and their meaning. The Bible is mostly historical accounts (both real and fictionalized) and religious dogma. What religious concepts it contains are, likewise, nothing new and startling even in their day. Most Biblical religious concepts were borrowed or stolen from older cultures that pre-dated the early Hebrews (such as the Sumerians and Zoroastrians).
Even compared to other cultures contemporary with the early Hebrews (such as the Greeks and Egyptians) the early Hebrew writings (which make up the Old Testament) were crude, not well developed and poorly expressed. But then early Hebrew authors weren't terribly concerned with developing complex or sophisticated philosophical ideas. Their writings were aimed, primarily, at establishing strict limitations on the actions of the Hebrew people and promoting a rather strict isolationist and elitist mind set.

You cannot compare the 3. Religion, Philosophy & Science are 3 totally different perceptions on life. In fact, they always seem to clash with each others views.
Science is based on historical findings, and is always out to prove something - FACTS. What people dont realize is that the bible doesn't state facts, it is teaching. It was created to understand the happenings of Jesus before his time, during his time & after his time. It teaches christians and all, a way of life.
Science doesn't tell us how to live as human beings, but instead why we live.
Hope this was helpful, but just to let you know...Science, Religion, and Philosophy never mix. It's a never ending battle.

Well... IMHO.. the bible was written by 1st hand experiences...
Philosophers put out opinions, and not experiences....
And Scientist put out Hypothesis that are challenged constantly...
All are relevant and the bible is the most life changing.. spiritually anyway

Any one of the great scientists or philosophers is worth more than the bible because they deal with reality.

I would say that the bible is more relevant and life changing. But the important writers (like Homer, Dostoevsky, Goethe or Nietzsche) have a better style are are more original.

The men that wrote the Bible were inspired by God. That's the difference!
Blessings!

I'd say more people read the Bible in any given week than read Aristotle.
