LOL! This is so funny. The kitten at my Ma in-laws is happy to play with a lot of strange things, but what comes to mind the most is:
An empty pill bottle to roll around on the floor or an empty 24 pack drink box opened on both ends. He likes to jump through it and sometimes just stretch out in it!

My cat loves her cat dancer. It's a coil with five little cardboard pieces on the end. I guess they think it's a butterfly. She chases me all over the house when I drag it, and she pounces on it if I hide it under a blanket. I just got her a cat charmer today and she seems to like it, too.

My cat has this thing with a ball in it. the ball rolls indies of it and the cat can play with it... here's the link! It's sold out but you can find them at any pet store and my cat goes crazy for it!

2 of my cats love those fishing line ones with feathers and a bell on the end that stick to windows... they're pretty inexpensive so i don't mind replacing them about every month. our oldest cat loves plastic bottle caps, but make sure they are big so he doesn't choke... and keep other plastics away... somehow he always finds the plastic wrappers off the baby food and plays with those, funny, but dangerous!

Try catnip stuffed toys,dried catnip,feather toys like the fishing rod type,sqeaky mouse toys, or even mouse toys.

Cats will play with a ball of foil, it doesnt take much to amuse a cat.

Soft cloth bags with catnip in them. The Amber Child likes the little furry mice that have a rattle in them (no rattle, no interest).
Ping-pong balls in the bathtub. Paper bags to crawl into and boxes to jump in and out of.
