Somebody did say however that they may need cooking a little bit longer to take the bitter aftertaste away.Do you have to par boil them first?

I think this is where I admit to being the most naive human being in the country! I had no idea what a dingleberry was until this question, and there is someone I know that every once in a while acts so immature that I call him that. I called him that thinking it was more polite than some other things I could call him, but now I realize I can't call him that anymore! (He still deserved it though for scaring the life out of me in the cooler at work!!!!)
Oh man, talk about a side splitting laughing fit that I have needed for a while now! :0)

Saw your question before and could not answer then. Still can't but can guess it is a berry not grown around here...like elderberries are grown on Cape Breton, Nova Scotia so it is hard to find that jam but it is available just not everywhere. It's my mother out laws favorite.as she grew up there

I have always understood dingle berries as the feces on the hair of you rear end. Disgusting but someone has pulled one on you. And yes I'm sure there will be an after taste. Yuk
