Absolutely Not! The vet is the only one who can do something to speed things up. Presumably you have taken her to a vet for advice.

She will have her pups when she is ready just had this problem last week I thought my dog was overdue by a week or more I just rubbed her belly everyday and said when are you going to have your puppies and last thursday she did I was really scared as it was her first litter and i was ringing the vets after every pup and i am quite sure he had better things to do but it took her nearly two hours after her first pup to have her second one and that was due to him being in a bad position and slightly over sized a vet nurse had to actually help her birth him but that is quite unusual from what we can gather she might have gotten in pups with him in her first week of heat but not with the other pups until the last week as he looks at least 3 weeks old but obviuosly is not. I wouldnt be to concerned and i would rub her belly get a warm box or basket ready for her with old sheets or blankets as you wont get the stains out of the ones she gives birth on try to get her to give birth on newspaper if possible but have a warm blanket down for the pups as they have to be kept warm. She shouldnt have her pups more than an hour apart and you shouldnt touch the pups unless absolutely neccesary or she may refus them however you may have to take the pups away from her each time she goes to have a new pup or she might stop pushing to pamper the pup. Just keep an eye on her with them for the first 48 hours after they are born and best of luck. I love puppies.

No!!!!!!! the pups will come when they want to. It is hard with dogs to be sure when they are due. Check with a vet. If he or she thinks there is a problem, they can do a C-Section as with a human, other wise leave the poor dog alone.

And for the love of God - what are you doing allowing your dog to breed if you are so unaware that you have to come to yahoo answers for advice? There are enough homeless dogs in the world without 'backyard breeders' worsening the problem. Have her spayed when she is back in her usual cycle after the birth.

How do you know she is overdue?Dogs average gestation is 63days, but the pregnancies' lengths do vary, according to many factors, eg.breed, age , first pregnancy, but most important, number of pups present.
My Poodles whelp quite normally at 58days!!!and a Whippet of mine had a "C" section because she was so gravid that she would never have started.
Please take her to the Vet. for a pre-whelping exam.He is the only person who can help you and your dog.

The gestation period is 58 to 63 days from time of breeding .If no labor by the 66th day she may need a drug to get her started or a C section .Need to see the Vet of course

take her to the vet asap and after the puppies are delivered have her spayed. you should be breeding a dog while shelter animals die!! it also sounds like you don't know what you are doing, so why did you breed her in the first place??? have her spayed. find good responsible homes for the pups!!

Get her to a vet!
Then ask about getting her spayed. I'm assuming that you're not deliberately breeding from her. If you were you'd probably know enough about the subject not to have to ask.
