I remember about 20 years ago frozen yogurt was a really cool item in all ice-cream shops in California. I expected to see this occur in the UK, but the healthy option never really materialised over here. Does anyone know why not? It was absolutely delicious and also low fat, better than ice-cream as it did not have such a creamy and sugary after taste.

Yea it was a big deal here in the US about 15 years ago.
TCBY (The country's best yogurt) chains popped up everywhere. I loved it.

I guess the fad just died out. All of them closed down in my area. Now the only place I can find it is in a few flavors (like vanilla and chocolate) offered in various Ice Cream shops as a healthy alternative. I actaully looked for some in the freezer section of the grocery store last night and only found one brand.

I think you should open up a shop and bring the fad back.

It is quite odd that you do not have frozen yogurt in the U.K. You should. I live in California now (formerly from Chicago, Illinois) and there are at least 2 frozen yogurt shops that I have been to. Whoever opens a frozen yogurt shop in the UK will do very well, in my opinion.

I used to be a waiter at the David Lloyd Tennis club in Bushey, Hertfordshire and they had a frozen yoghurt machine.

I used to love it. Mango was my favourite flavour.

Damn I want some right now !!!!!

It still exists in the US, but is not as mainstream as it used to be. Perhaps the makers decided it would be too big a risk to try to go international.
