New style crisp, dry, white zin's can be refreshing and are great summer sippers. But they're are not keepers drink within a year, even cellared properly theae are perishable wines.

Actually, white zinfandel STARTS bad , even before its opened... that fizzy plonk should be outlawed.... if you're old enough to drink, you're too old to be drinking cheap sweet pink wine..
A few other comments; no, NOT all wines turn to vinegar - vinegar is NOT part of the aging process, and only results from bacterial contamination.
If left unopened, there is no way for it to evaporate, except perhaps if the seal is broken (such as with a dried out cork).

Yes, indeed. White Zinfandel is a cheap wine cheaply made and designed for rapid turnover in stores and quick consumption. Even if stored unopened on its side in 65 degree temperature a typical bottle of white zinfandel will start to go noticably bad after 9 months or so.

Depends on how it was cellared. If it was kept in a cellar at the proper temperature, on it's side so the cork stayed moist then it could keep for that length of time. I've had white wine from the mid 80's that was drinkable but it was cellared correctly. If however it was kept upright, in the light and subject to movement from people walking back and forth in front of it every day then no. It might be okay to cook with but I wouldn't drink it. As for what you have, I wouldn't say it's off but I wouldn't say it's gone bad either. It's just a little on the far side of okay.

Unopened, stored cork down, the wine is good for at least 15-20 years. Opened, its good for about 5 days. It will get a little 'vinegary' when it is really old and starts going bad.

No madam not if it has not been opened and the only way for it to stay fresh is get you one of those vacum seal corks and vacum pump ..they are awesome for keeping wine fresh ..when air gets to the wine it release the flavor of the wine, that's why you let a bottle of red wine air for 30 minutes or more..

any wine should be stored on it's side and it a moderately cooled, dark area until used. wouldn't keep the zin too long, though.....it's meant to be opened and drank in a short time frame. Happy Thursday!

Yes, it will go bad over time. Heat will speed up this process, so don't leave the bottle in your car all week.

All I've heard about it is that the alcohol will evaporate and you will have vinegar left.
