Tell her to write stories and poems whenever she feels the urge. Then her lying will be acceptable. Gradually she might grow out of it; guess it depends how old she is when she starts getting helped--and yes, she needs professional help too, or loving help from family and pastor? A lot of those people have to develop their consciousness of the effect on other people (have a really bad experience that spooks them) before they change.
If there's another way I don't know coz I'm not trained, just remember what worked on someone I know.
**The "stories and poems" might uncover why she lies. Just a thought.

It will have to come from her if she can admit she has a problem. Its not something she really needs therapy for or espically some drug (why is it you people automatically go there like theres some kind of drug to deal with every problem in life, lifes hard get over it) any way sorry but she will need to tell the truth go back to any times she can remember that she lied and tell that person the truth. "the truth shall set you free"

Find out why she feels the need to compulsively lie. This is sometimes because of a need for attention. A therapist will help her find out why she so desperatly needs to be noticed. Perhaps while in therapy the doctor might find another underlying psychological problem, but really if she feels that this negatively interferes with her life she needs to go to therapy.

Your parents need to take her for counseling (if she is under 18 that is.) Otherwise, if she wants help and she is over 18 she is going to have to seek it herself. She needs a therapist.

i don't know if it's a disease..
but lying in itself should be stopped. your whole family should take serious steps to help her not to lie, help her see the virtue of being truthful.
