My hair is light brown with auburn highlights. It has a slight wave to it. I have fringe type bangs right now and it is in the process of growing out layers, the shortest is chin length and the longest is 1.5-2 inches below my shoulder line.

Medieval is a broad general term. There are many styles that came and went during that frame.

For an authentic style, you might want to try braids. First, braid the longer hair. Then pin up the shorter hair that won't hold in the braid. Then pin up the braid around your head.
Try this for pictures and ideas:

You could also try a head covering to help hide the modern cut.
It probably wouldn't be that hard to make a simple one or get a cheap one from a costume store.

Good Luck!

Ringlets always look good and I think that they would work especially well with your hair since it has layers and highlights. Your fringe bangs will keep it looking "young". Good luck and have fun!

Check out this site. I think alot of the braided styles are very reminiscent of those worn in medieval times.

You can wear a snood it like a net that hold up the back of their hair.Or a circlet that goes around your forehead and under your hair.

Well, to me accurate to the middle ages you'd actually cover most your hair. Maybe wear a white snood or braid it.

Hope these help. Much of the hair was braided then because of infrequent washing and this was the easiest thing to have for several day to keep the hair from tangling.

Weave pearls and head lice through it (if you want to be authentic…)
