I'm such a bad mom... What happened was i have a box of goodies to send to my brother in law in Iraq, and this morning when my boyfriend lets them out before he goes to work and I'm sleeping, they somehow got into the closed box and I found like 30 wrappers and then the bag of Liesavers. One of them already threw up pink throw up... Is that all is they will have a tummy ache or something that I need to go to the vet for? I didn't want to call the vet (I'm always calling them worried about my pups), I thought I'd ask you guys first cause you are always helpful. Thanks (And believe me I'm taking all precautions now to keep things like that away)

Were me, I'd call the vet and ask. Being pups you would have to be more careful than with agrown dog. You're not a bad mom....stuff happens. Bad moms don't call vets.

As long as they didn't get into any chocolate in the package or swallow a lot of paper, they should be all right. If they throw up a lot, watch them for dehydration, and if the problem continues, take them to the vet. And if they did swallow a lot of wrapping, watch them for intestinal blockage -- being unable to poop, bloaty stomach, pain.

Calling the vet is probably a good idea, though, if for no other reason than making you feel better. And if they have tummy upsets, you can feed them a half and half mix of well drained and rinsed boiled hamburger and rice. Try that for a few days until any vomiting or diarhea stops and their systems return to normal.

You're not a bad mom. . .puppies are appetite and curiousity on four paws. You could have been sitting in the same room and not necessarily have prevented them from getting their little butts in trouble.

They will probably be fine. There is nothing in lifesavers that is toxic to dogs, so they probably just threw up and that will be it. It probably just upset their tummies since there is so much sugar. If they throw up again or if there is a change in their behaviour or something just doesn't seem right with them, then call the vet, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Edited to add: a lot of people are saying the only thing you need to worry about dogs eating is chocolate ... this is NOT true. Chocolate is definitely toxic, but so are onions (and onion powder), raisins, grapes, avacado, apple seeds, and caffeine. You need to watch for any of those too, not just chocolate.

Call the vet anyway and ask for his advice. Asking on here can lead to a world of trouble if you get the wrong advice.

My instinct is that as long as there was no chocolate, caffeine, or raisins, they will probably be a little tummy achy for awhile, but not really in danger. You can try to feed them some Chicken baby food or boiled unseasoned chicken breast mixed with white rice to dissapate the candy and settle their stomach. You may also want to give some pepcid to help settle the stomach. But, you have to talk to a vet about dosage and the type of pepcid you need to use.

Good luck to you.

You say this morning. If you are on EST then enough time has gone by for them to react to the sugar if they were going to. It's also too late to induce vomiting. Just keep an eye on them for a couple of days. They may develop diarrhea but most likely the should be just fine.

They r like kids they have an upset tummy , if u can get them to drink some milk it will help sooth there little tummys down . the only thing u need to worry about is chocolate that is poison for dogs!! so they will be fine.

If it wasn't chocolate they will just have a massive sugar buzz going for a while. I had a dog eat a 25lb of gummy bears once, oh man, she threw up and was hyper for a few hours, but then she was fine. They should be fine. Good luck.

well they will poop out the paper and that maybe scary to you, but they are ok when eating hard candy too much of it can give them a tummy ache but other than that it is ok. they can process the hard candy yet not things like chocolate their bodies can't process the alkali.

they should be fine.... accidents happen (I must be a bad mom b.c i occassionally gave my pups gummi bears to eat only one) but if they throw up too long or are sick more than a day or so, go to the vet.... just watch them.... they should be fine.... it's mostly sugar and color.... nothing they can't handle
