Prior to giving birth, mommy cat will walk in circles, meowing loudly and looking for a secluded, comfortable spot to have her kittens, if she hasn't scoped one out already. She won't eat or anything. She'll go to that spot for about a day (or overnight), and in a little while, you'll hear the soft "Meww" of kittens (they actually sound like mice, ironically). If you see the kittens, DO NOT TOUCH THEM, esp. if it's a stray mommy cat. She will reject it if if has your scent on it. Domestic cats would be OK with you touching the kittens, but she'll still "fuss at you."

How do you know it's a female? How do you know it's pregnant? It could be a male that has a urinary blockage in which case it could die if not treated soon. If you are sure it's a female and it's pregnant then more than likely it would be hiding somewhere right now. Cats go off somewhere private to have kittens. If you have fed it then it's not a stray anymore it's yours. Rule of thumb with cats... if you feed it it will stay around. Take it to the vet.

They usually go nuts over "secret territorials"... places they go beyond your peripherals...

My cat usually go around in circles... meows a lot ( i mean, a lot!) and dissapears to her secret territory, which is under our old couch in the garage...

I actually saw my cat delivering once, how cool is that?
