Is there a way to make fast money (like a couple hundred or so) over a couple of weeks with a good camera and good equipment?

If not in the hundred how much?

I'm about 30 min from a big Metro city and my town isn't small either.

This is professional grade stuff; Canon EOS30D, Softbox, Lighting, Backdrops and reflectors.

The last comment is probably the best way to make *fast* money (sell the equipment).

If you're looking for a way to earn income over a long period of time then a stock agency is a good way to go.

Depending on the quality of your work you can get accepted to a variety of sites such as http://absolutestockphoto.com .

There is a list of various agencies:

You may earn money quicker at a site like Shutterstock but they pay like 10 cents per photo sale. If you keyword well and take good photography of "hot" subjects you can earn between $25 - $125+ per image sold at a NON-subscription agency - it may take longer because the volume of transactions is lower at the Non-subscriptions sites in comparison to the subscription based agencies.

I only know the commercial world so if you are interested in portraits and weddings, ignore what I am saying. Do you know what you want to shoot? as an example you may want to shoot cars. If so, find a photographer that does what you do, perhaps in a larger city and a city that is known for that type of photography. Put a resume together and try to get a job as an assistant. What you may want to do is to save some money so that you can live in a bigger city for a while without working. Then find all of the photographers that you would like to work for and approach them. Offer to work for free if you have to. Offer yourself as a freelance assistant but say you'll do a couple of jobs for free so they can get to know you. Slowly people will start calling you for freelance assisting jobs and then someone may offer you a full time job. If you need to make more money during this time get a job in a restaurant where you can switch your shift easily. If a freelance job comes along switch your shift, if you can't switch it, just tell the photographer that you are booked on those dates already. Once you step into the world of commercial photography you will find your way and opportunities will come up. It may seem like a long road at times but keep going for it. I would say that 90% or more of the photographers I knew when I was 19 gave up.

Sooth is correct... the most expensive equipment in the world isn't worth anything if the images you take are crap.

There is no such thing as a true get-rich scheme or job. There are tons of scams out there though.

The best way is to just take your camera into the city and offer people to take their pictures for a couple bucks. I've seen it work in the past.

it's not about the equipment, but the quality of the photos you take. the photo editor doesn't care about what kind of eq you have to take the photo, jsut as long as the photos fit their bottom line.

as for the original question, sorry, don't know of a fast and easy method to make cash with photography short of wandering tourist areas and doing impromtu portraits (with a portable ink jet).

Well you could always sell the equipment and get fast money that way.
