Have you seen how easy it is for even amateurs to 'bump' a lock?

why most international travel ( especially to the USA) requires that not only do you not use these straps but that you leave your luggage unlocked so it can be searched by airport security. You know if you have been searched because they leave you a nice little note.

If you are planning on flying, you can't lock your luggage any more. I think that is stupid since they send our luggage through an X-ray machine to check for bombs. If you do have a bomb, then they should not put your luggage on the plane, then let you get on the plane where your butt can be hauled to jail!

If you must have them - perhaps for train or tour bus travel, check out the AAA store in your town. You could also find a high end luggage store that might carry them.
