I have the same problem, wash your hair everyday if you cant tie it up. and brush it. this is not a bad thing people have problems when its too dry. spray hairspray but leaving it alone and just brushing is better. spray with water.

If it's really oily - dont condition at all - maybe try using a 2 in 1. Also - a clarifying shampoo once a week and if needed 2 times a week. Some people say to only wash your hair everyother day. I cant do that since my hair is curly so I wash with shampoo everyday and condition everyother day.
The baby powder at the roots suggestion works wonders. But be careful as to not add to much or it will clump up and make you look like you have dandruff.
Dont over use product. That will make the oily look worse. Espically hairspray. Over a few hours it breaks down and you are left with the gross feeling.

Wash just the roots with a shampoo that is mild, but strong enough to clean it and never use pearly or white shampoo only use clear soapy shampoo's. You only wash your scalp so that you don't need to over do it on the conditioner. Most shampoo contains loads of alcohol which dries it out instantly and requires conditioners to replenish the moisture, which are all wax or oil based.
Clarify once a week with neutrogena clarifying shampoo it get's rid of build up that makes you have to shampoo and dry out your hair.
Only use Conditioner on the ends. Flip your hair over when you condition it so it is easier to just do the ends. I read that Katie Holmes has the same problem and this is what she does???

I had this problem when I was younger and the only thing I can say is keep washing. Any shampoo works as well as any other I found. Just get the one that smells nice to you. I had oily skin too.
When you are older, your hair will not be so dried out and fragile as some women's is and your skin will not wrinkle as easily.
This is not a bad trade-off.

there are lots of products that you can used. but shampoo with conditioner would always be the basic thing so your hair wont grease out since it removes the natural oil that is being produced by your hair glands. 3 mins of shampoo wont hurt your time but if you are really in a hurry, just apply a gel which is water based soft hold. good luck.

I have the same problem but blowdrying helped me as did dying my hair. It took out some of the oils. I heard a little bit of baby powder at the roots can spruce them up.

Try Bumble & Bumble hair powder. This is a very very fine powder that you sprinkle in your hair to absord all the oil. They come in 5 different shades so you can pick the one that blends best. If you want a cheap solution, try baby powder. BUT REMEBER, baby powder is WHITE and not fine so be careful to put it in sparingly!!!!
