It kind of works if you put the peroxide in and wrap it in foil like at the salons and blow dry on low but it wont give you a look like bleaching at a salon it comes out more of a strawberry blonde.

If his hair is light brown, the peroxide may turn his hair orange... so try a spot first, like neck line, something that can be shaved if necessary. sun-in will lighten, but also could be orangy. my best suggestion, if you don't want it to be permanent, get one of those wash out dyes. it will last up to probably 4or 5 washes... and if it isn't the color you are looking for, use dish detergent to wash it out.

If your hair is not to dark it might work but it will dry out your hair something freaky. I would use regular hair dye from the beauty supply store if you are not going for a drastic change. If your hair is dark to start with, let a professional handle it.

Peroxide will turn your hair orange.

I've heard though if you put lemon juice in your hair and sit outside the sun and the acid in the juice will lighten your hair.

No, do not do that. It will damage your hair and make your hair fall out. Go to a professional to have it done-
