Just smile and be honest with them. Compliments don't cost a thing: "you have lovely eyes (skin, hair, feet, - not boobs or butt). What are you interested in for the future? " Find out something about the girls that you have in common. That way, you're guaranteed to have something to talk about. Keep some hard candy in your pocket and offer her some, that breaks the ice. Just enjoy them and look them in the eye when you talk to her. It's important. Have clean fingernails too! You're a stud!

i know how you feel, man.
i totally agree with 'LUCKYGIRL,' it is very important that you be yourlself.
i think i remember watching an episode of VH1's 'Can't Get A Date' where they said something like.. "if you only go out with girls that ask you out, you're only getting the girls that WANT YOU, not necessarily the girls that YOU WANT.
just try not to be so shy, and just talk. no fancy pick up lines, secret tricks, or anything like that. just make some eye contact and smile. if she reciprocates, then just go up to her and introduce yourself or ask her how she's doing (or some other form of small talk). but remember, don't appear desperate because that's a big turn off for them. just relax. oh, and one more thing, don't ask them if they're single or something like that.

Don't go into it wanting to start a flirty conversation. Just say hello. If you don't know what to talk about, ask them about them. "So, what do you like to do for fun? Who's your favorite singer?" etc. Get to KNOW them slowly, the flirty part will come in time, IF you want a REAL conversation and want to REALLY know them. Good luck!

If they are hitting on you, then you don't need any help to start a flirty conversation.......... they are doing the work for you, just go with the flow.

It seems you do not need to approach them so that problem is removed. Unless you want to do that.
Best advice is to just walk up to them and start chatting about interests after asking names. Things will, or will not move on from there.
