Of course. Many of the 10,100,000+ people of Michigan know someone from Africa. Hundreds of "Lost Boys" from Sudan are living in Grand Rapids, for example. In fact, 14 of them just became citizens last Friday.

I know an african (many now that I think of it) in michigan......

So in a round about way yes they do know someone from africa...
