It is bubbling so I assume that it is fermenting. Has anyone else ever tried this?

Provided it's covered, it'll ferment ok...taste a little odd, though. If you used baking yeast, it'll still keep the yeast flavor a little, though.

It's a different kind of grape than wine grapes, so you'll definitely taste the difference in addition to the yeastiness...but it won't kill you.

Honestly, though, you're not too far off from what will work. In a pinch, as long as you're fermenting in the container the grape juice came in originally and you were clean and used enough yeast, it'll remain sanitary. If you changed containers without using a sanitizer to sterilize the new container (and everything else you're using) then you can definitely acquire a nasty funk.

All I can say is your yeast is having a feast..... I doubt all the sugar will be eaten up by the yeast..... but man they must be haven a party! There are other ingredients in Welch's also....... this is not good.... don't drink it.
Wine, put simply is made from the fermented juice of FRESHLY-picked grapes. The yeast in wine are microscopic organisms that live naturally alongside grapes IN THE VINEYARD and WINERY.
I can see your thought pattern though.... : )

How much yeast? You can also make wine from Welches just by opening the bottle, closing it and placing in a dark cool place for a period of time. You can put a balloon on the bottle neck and when it fills up and deflates your wine is ready.

Yes, this will work if you are in prison... Seriously, be careful if you try to drink this. As a homebrewer and fermenter I can say form experience, that if you dont have sterile or at least very close to sterile conditions, you can get some serious funk in your wine. This can make you pretty ill.

If you are seriously interested in winemaking, why not visit a homebrew shop. Most cities have them and unless you are underage, why not try it? You can explore different beer styles or wine varietalls for fairly inexpensive.

Wine, yes, technically, IF you continue to maintain it correctly. It will not taste like anything you want to drink though. Wine is difficult to make and GOOD wine takes a moderate investment in equipment (under 200$) and a strong investment in time and effort.

No don't think this will work. It might make you sick as a dog, but it won't give you the reaction you desire. There is a way to make homemade wine. If I can find my best recipe I will send it to you.

lmao ... not just no but hell no :P you might have a very fine vinager when you are done though :) If you wish to make your own wine you can find wine making kits in pretty much any Walmart (unless its illegal to make it yourself where you live), or you can find some very fine books with recipes in your local library.
