Loaded Question - You can't explain biblically why because the bible says pretty directly that the righteous will inherit the earth (sheesh). Like asking to use the 10 commandments to justify adultery.
But if you look around you'll notice that those doing the inheriting aren't especially righteous (especially in the less develoved areas), so someone will have to do some biblical butt kicking for the prophecy to come true.

The Bible doesn't say the righteous will inherit the earth. It says the meek will. The meek being those that love God and tolerate individuals that haven't come to cross yet. And those that love their neighbors as themselves.

Simply because many books were excluded from the bible by the religious scholars who decided whether they should be included. Uncanonized scripture study will give you a different perspective of faith, which those scholars were afraid you would find out and conclude that they could be wrong. Faith does not mean drawing conclusions, only that you continue to search for the truth. The truth is revealed through quieting your mind and listening for the answers. Peace is the test of the validity of the answers you receive.
