Go to the store...(any store like wal-mart or CVS) and go to the hair dye area. Look for a perm kit. Buy it and when you get home, use it but don't use the curlers. Just put the stuff on your hair and keep brushing it straight and let it sit for about 45 mins or whatever the box says. Then wash it out and you will have straight hair. I went to get mine done at the salon and she told me that is all she did was used a perm kit and keep it straight. Good luck!

hello ducky. i understand that driving your car a hundred miles an hour down a one way street is quite a hair straightening experience, but i wouldn't recommend it. try buying a quality iron, hon. not a cheapie, they don't have the features built into them to keep from burning your hair. as far as chemicals go, it's trial and error. the thickness of yer hair, the ph of your skin and a bunch of things determine if a chemical will work or not. sorry, no hard answers on that but i do have some experience with hair care products, and i know straighteners are different. you'll need to try some till you find one that works.

Have you tried a perm and tried combing it through? You could also try a relaxer. If you are caucasian and do not have dry/course hair you may want to try a very mild one. I have naturally wavy/curly hair and had the Chi System put in my hair and it works really good. It leaves your hair feeling very healthy but it cost me $400 for short/medium hair + the flat iron+ products. I think it was worth it though.

Definately get a hot tools one...mine was around 20-30 dollars, i've had it for two years and it still works great! If you set it to the highest heat setting it works even better. If you buy a straightener for less than 20 dollars, you're wasting your money...once I got one on sale for 10 and it did NOTHING. Good luck. ;)
