You have a sense of humour that's a good thing! If you are suffering from severe depression and mania then yes you may have bi polar disorder if just depression then not. It is not a waste of money if you are being prescribed the right meds if the ones you are prescribed are not working you need to discuss this with prescribing psychiatrist or gp and find ones that do stabilise your mood also you need to talk through what is troubling you with a therapist so atleast you have some support. People around mental illness sometimes live in denial and tell you just to stop wasting your money or to pull yourself together this advice is not supportive or helpful. If he is that successful a buisnessman then maybe he can give you some of his money to help towards the correct and adequate treatment of your illness. Good luck.

Your uncle is ignorant. It's easy for people who don't have mental illness to write it off. "U R just plain crazy" might have been acceptable 100 years ago. But these days, why should you put up with being crazy when there are treatments out there?
What he means is, "you're just plain crazy. Get used to having a life that sucks." Well, no, you don't have to accept it. Figure out your problems, get medical help, figure out if you're gay, and have a better life.

i also have PTS as well as being a bipolar and it is hard at times and your uncle does not know anything about depression, bipolar or any other mental problems . I have been bipolar as far as i can remeber since i was 10 yrs old . I am now 45 not til i became an adult did i know what was wrong with me. If you are a gay bear be proud and dont allow what others say about it or think about you . it is who you are n what you choose.
